The Making of Mother.
The Challenge
Anne wanted portraits that captured the raw humor and emotional depth of Mother — a postpartum clown show about identity, exhaustion, and joy. The images needed to feel real and true, not polished or posed, but highly stylized and stand out to grab attention immediately.
Creative Direction
We started with the idea of Mother meeting the classic pin-up stereotype, but with a twist. With playful, expressive poses and simple props including tiny plastic babies, breast pumps, and her personal postpartum underwear. These details brought her stage character to life on screen. Retouching was minimal, with the intention of leaving the scars, bumps, hairs, and textures that make us so human and beautiful.
Results
The portraits became key visuals for Mother — featured on sizzle reels, social posts, and flyers across featured cities.
They boosted Anne’s visibility, helping her grow brand awareness, earn press, and connect with new fans.
