Santa’s After Hours
A Holiday Photo Experience by Banana-Nana Photography
ABOUT THE POP-UP
Santa spent years sneaking into your home, now it’s your turn.
Watch how we stepped in Santa’s world after his big night.
Santa’s After Hours Portraits
Behind the Scenes
The Idea
What if we captured what Santa looks like after a long night of delivering toys around the world?
Would he look like anyone else at the end of a big shift or overnighter? Pizza boxes everywhere. Drinks open. Netflix still playing.
Then I thought… maybe Santa would be the same? A little like us.
✅ Just swap the pizza for cookies.
✅ The beer for gallons of milk (spilt of course).
✅ Netflix for whatever chaos he feels like watching once the night’s done (he had it on the kids being naughty on TV-ex: putting spaghetti in a stuffed teddy bear)
And of course, add a sprinkle of mess.
The Vision
Starting with the theme, I imagined Santa living in a vintage, mid-century Christmas world.
Classic bright reds, deep greens, and pops of silver mixed with warm brass set the tone.
To ground the space and bring warmth to the scene, a vintage TV became the anchor - adding a sense of familiarity and harmony to this world.
The props came next, and they were key to selling the story. Brushed polyethylene chocolate chip cookies were made to keep crumbs controlled on set. Spilled glasses of milk in cartons, holiday glasses and bottles, were cast in white resin, mimicking careless spills. And custom-designed magazines added character and detail giving participants real things to play with on set, tying everything together.
Chaos. Wrapped.
Santa’s now awake and planning the next year, the milk has been cleaned up, and we’re getting ready for the next pop-up event.
